Re: convert x to dvd burn problem

Probably the fault of those Memorex DVD-R's. Either they're cheap (Most likely they are and they're CMC discs.) or your standalone DVD player doesn't like them. You said you're using ImgBurn. I've been beta testing that for the past 16 years, so maybe I can provide a little insight. Insert one of th...

Re: What are some good alternative to VLC media player?

I thought MPC didn't support Blu-Ray playback.

Re: Conversion Is Impossible

That shouldn't have had an effect on conversion, though. Unless the ~800 MB file was being read in from a disc in the USB drive. Or the conversion is a direct burn to DVD after conversion. That might factor into it.

Re: Subtitle Language Displayed

What the names of the other two languages? You'd have to change the .en in the SRT file name to the corresponding shorthand for whatever those other 2 languages are, I'd think.

Re: Conversion Is Impossible

Reinstalls generally won't affect the performance of something like this. In most cases, the cause is the source file.

Re: Conversion Is Impossible

Does it specifically say the running time is the reason conversion is impossible or does the error message say anything else helpful? Conversion may be impossible for reasons other than the running time. What is the running time of the file? It may be small, but the compression may be so great that ...

Re: Picture freeze

Ritek DVD-R discs are known to be problematic in some players. For instance, my PS3 doesn't like them. Although we still can't rule out that the problem is not a conversion issue. Since it happens at exactly the same place each time, it could be a partially unreadable part of the disc or CXD incorre...

Re: Picture freeze

Just from a cursory evaluation of the information you've supplied, I'd have to hazard a guess that it's a media incompatibility. The discs you're using may have playback issues in the device you're trying to play from. First, I'd see if this is caused by conversion or playback on a device. If you ha...

Re: What are some good alternative to VLC media player?

My media player of choice is Media Player Classic Home Cinema. I've been using it for years. Plays containers, CD's (I think.), and DVD's (For the most part. Some navigational and playback issues exist.). It came preinstalled with K-Lite Codec Pack Mega which I've also been using for years.

Re: convert x to dvd burn problem

Probably a corrupt input file. As a test, try other files and see if this process is repeatable. If it is not, it's the input file you're using. If it is the input file you're using, try using some kind of software to save/convert the input from one format to another. If that doesn't work, recompres...

Re: Question about converting X to DVD

Is this DVD player trying to play DVD's or are you putting the contents on the USB stick? If it's DVD discs, then that DVD player probably doesn't like the manufacturer or the process/dye used on that disc you burned. Particularly if you're using CMC Magentics disc like you find in most stores. Such...

Re: video file locked up convertstodvd

When I encounter input that chokes CXD, the first thing I try is loading it in AVIDeMux and create a new file with a different Video codec type so, basically, an entirely new file is created. See if that helps.

Re: “Good result (Auto Long project), however

The interesting thing is, sometimes you get that note about checking to use a DVD+R DL even though the resulting VIDEO_TS project will still fit on a DVD-5. It's somewhat guesswork what the actual final results file sizes will be. I don't use 2 pass encoding because it's highly unreliable. Last time...

Re: Need Subtitles Disabled

I believe the software default is to Always display a subtitle track on playback. So, that option is probably checked. Try unchecking that option. I know I have to uncheck it when configuration a new installation of CXD.

Tech support will have to help you with that. Sometimes, the licenses don't apparently get registered on the server end. The software apparently thinks the key is not valid.

Re: ConvertXtoDVD7 and multiple video converting

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking for, so let me ask you a question. Are you creating a main menu or just making a DVD where the video plays straight through when you insert/play it? If you're not creating a main menu, I would think you may want to. That way, you can jump to a particular titl...

Re: Subtitle not in sync

Yes, did you do any editing to the source video to remove content before importing it into CXD? If you did, then the subtitles would be out of sync because the video file is not the same size anymore. You probably didn't edit the source file, but I'm covering all the bases. Or, did you use the trim ...

Re: Audio Level Normalization

While I can't answer your dB question, here's a suggestion to keep from using expensive DVD+R DL discs to test with. Change the output in CXD to create a VIDEO_TS folder on the HDD. Then, open the VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO file in something like Media Player Classic Home Cinema. You can test the output ...
