You are converting from 4k to HD.
Original is 3840 × 2160 pixels and your converted file is 720 x 480 pixels.
Result is actually good conversion.

If you found subtitles separately from movie then most likely they are in different fps or even for different "cut" of movie.
Use separate subtitle editor (lot of free ones on net) to match subtitles with your video.

Some players have option to turn subtitles on/off or even showing only certain language subtitles.

What is size of project to burn?
If it is over DVD+R capacity then it asks for DL disc.
You find real size from conversion log.

I don't think its a problem with the subtitles. They work fine when I watch using VLC on my computer or through my xbox. Just when I burn them to disc they get weird. Confirming this; clicking on beta download link and nothing happens, right after the link looks odd. Clicking on latest release provides file as supposed.

Check on those subtitles that they are good before conversion. Anything crashing on Win11 has to be considered normal problem due new OS.
Whole OS is not stable on all systems yet without any apps installed. Takes time.

All VSO products are under huge upgrade, mostly going to 64bit.
First-in-line is Downloader, other products to follow.
VSO will inform more.

Sadly AMD does not support OpenGL.
Other options are CUDA - NVidia and IntelSync -for Intel.

Not much that can be done without NVidia GFX card.
