Please detect Opus audio
I tried converting a Youtube clip but realised it had no sound. I checked the MediaInfo and it used Opus audio. Your program has no clue what this format is and leaves the audio track blank. Thanks.

Re: [Request] Is it possible to improve the cut & trim editi
Your Cut & Trim editing is still very inaccurate. It's very difficult to make an exact cut and when you do, the output is completely the wrong part that you wanted cut/trimmed. I also made a cut at the start of a clip and at the end but the end one was completely ignored and didn't trim anything...

Re: Average Quality using MP4 preset (H264) + Broken Qual Fa
My original post was to report that adding 10% Quality Factor on your program didn't make any difference (the bitrate and file size were exactly the same). I only commented that Handbrake (64 bit) could convert the same file nearly 3 times as fast using CRF. Your programming took 16 minutes per epis...

Re: Average Quality using MP4 preset (H264) + Broken Qual Fa
why do you compare with Handbrake? You can only compare if you create a custom profile with our software otherwise the settings in a default profile are not the same or compareable to handbrake result Yeah, it was more of a benchmark. Handbrake is free and can convert the same file nearly 3 times a...

Re: Average Quality using MP4 preset (H264) + Broken Qual Fa
To get a similar result as Handbrake use a custom profile and select h264 rate control tab and select rate control method as Constant Quality Constant RF. Then let us know your results. *You cannot select your output size. I think i'll just wait for VSO to release a 64-Bit version. At the moment it...

Re: Average Quality using MP4 preset (H264) + Broken Qual Fa
Another thing that I have noticed is that when I converted several episodes (42 minutes each), they all came out at just over 400mb each. If I convert the same episodes with Handbrake then the file sizes are very different due to there being various amounts of fast moving scenes each episode. VSO se...

Re: Average Quality using MP4 preset (H264) + Broken Qual Fa
Using 1.6.0.6
My conversion also looked a bit pixelated around text. Handrake CRF 21 looks better and is a smaller filesize.

Average Quality using MP4 preset (H264) + Broken Qual Factor
I converted an episode of a DVD to the preset MP4 (H264+AAC) and found that it looks quite pixelated during a lot of fast moving scenes, disappointing. I tried adding 10 % to the Quality Factor and the resulting file came out as the exact same filesize and bitrate. Are the presets broken (because th...

[Request] 64-bit version to increase encoding speed
Hi, just what the subject line says. A lot of people have 64-bit and I think Encoding Speed on a Video Converter is a very important factor. Nobody wants to wait hours for a conversion when it's possible to do it much much quicker with their same hardware (and that's Software Encoding which obviousl...

Re: [Request] Is it possible to improve the cut & trim editi
+1 for this. I've recently been using AVIDemux to edit clips without re-encoding and their method to edit is faultless. They have 'Mark start' and 'Mark end' buttons (then you can cut out or copy the section etc.) and for precision it has 'Next Frame' and 'Previous Frame' and for No re-encoding they...

Log reports De-Interlacing on every encode
So on every encode I do, the log file says
- DeInterlace filter: FFmpeg
I am encoding Progressive clips so why is it de-interlacing them all the time, I thought this would degrade the quality if the movie wasnt interlaced ?
Can you add an option to manually turn OFF the De-Interlacing pleaase ?

Re: Reference Frames option doesn't make a difference
I change metadata to simulate false ref frames really? How can you say that (it's totally false...) For your information, ref frames is not a simple metadata field... Like I said, I request a ref frame count to nvenc then encoder do what it can. My nvenc card can't use more than 4 ref frames (I nev...

Re: Reference Frames option doesn't make a difference
Hello cribber, You have a very bad attitude. The head programmer of VSO, Cedric, took his time out to sort out what issues you were having and this is how you treat him? I'm surprised he's still responding to you. You're lucky(?) I'm not a mod as you'd no longer have your account or access to the f...

Re: Reference Frames option doesn't make a difference
Hello cribber, ...I've converted a few files with 2 reference frames and 4 reference frames and they are exactly the same to the byte (using NVENC). I tried with software and you can see a difference in the MediaInfo. I just wanted the programmer to confirm if it does or doesn't work with NVENC, be...

Why do you completely ignore my posts all the time ? Are you serious? I always take the time to anwer to your posts!!! Well, there were a couple of posts that you never replied to in this forum. Re: Reference Frames option doesn't make a difference
Hello cribber, 2) Why is the NVENC one smaller file size and bitrate ? -> because NVENC is more effective! I hope that you are not like a lot of users thinking "bigger is my file, better is the video quality" Please, stay focused on video quality and forget the filesize (especially as I t...

Re: Reference Frames option doesn't make a difference
What I was trying to explain to you was this, I don't use VLC, I use a utility called "MediaInfo". Using the same small clip for both encodes When I encode a clip with NVCUVENC and CRF 20 I get these results :- NVCUVENC CRF 20 MediaInfo.jpg When I encode a clip with NVENC and CRF 20 I get ...

Re: Reference Frames option doesn't make a difference
Why do you said NVENC produce CBR? All my files converted using NVENC are VBR. Do you used the last beta version? Regards, Yes I am using the latest beta v1.5.0.9. I am using the profile I posted above. NVENC CRF (according to encoded MediaInfo) is not using variable bitrate. NVCUVENC CRF encoded M...
