trying to convert a mkv file and halfway through I get an error telling me ''converter from almost all type of video/audio file to DVD that can be played on every standalone DVD players has stopped working''
''a problem caused the program to stop working correctly, windows will now close the program and notify you if a solution is available''
any ideas why/what?

Try with another MKV file and see if it happens again.
Sometimes a movie is badly encoded although it will still play, however it will not convert.
When this happens to me, I usually try to convert the movie to, say MP4, then try to convert. Sometimes it works other times it doesn't.
