New ISO images not being created
Hi
When creating DVD files, I leats choose to create an ISO image also, but each time I do a new conversion, it overwrites the previous ISO file, using the same file name as the previous conversion...
E.g.
Conversion 1
Fred bloggs goes to mars series 1
Iso created Fred bloggs goes to mars series 1.iso
Then I do a conversion of Fred bloggs goes to mars series 2
But the iso created ‘ over writes ‘ the series 1 file, instead of creating an iso called
Fred bloggs goes to mars series 2.iso
The title is correct in the ‘ burning’ window and saved with the appropriate name......why should this be happening ?
Thanks

Hi
Did you say you were ABLE to reproduce this ? Or did you mean to say you were UNable...?
Thanks

Re: New ISO images not being created
I tried a few times, can NOT reproduce the way you describe.
But - I took video and copied it, named
Video1
Video2
Video 1
Video 2
Converted each one starting from top.
First two convert ok, create matching ISO.
3rd and 4th convert ok, no errors but no ISO file created.
I suspect that cause is the space in name.
I will test more a bit later.

Re: New ISO images not being created
Hello
Thank you so much for taking the time to evaluate this issue. I suspect it could have something to do with naming, mine also had spaces .....think the exact naming was “Ed Edd & Eddy season 1” then the same but with 2, 3, 4 instead of 1....
Strange behaviour indeed. 😱

Re: New ISO images not being created
To add more strange;
I copied a music video 6 times,
too much love will kill you 1.avi
too much love will kill you 2.avi
too much love will kill you 3.avi
too much love will kill you1.avi
too much love will kill you2.avi
too much love will kill you3.avi
First conversion did not produce ISO at all.
Then all the rest did, including second attempt at first one (where it warned that directory exists).
So it works as it should here if not counting those few hiccups.

Will monitor closely as I have a few left to do.....is there any where else that the title is stored ? Apart from the burning tab and the file name......

Re: New ISO images not being created
UPDATE
Just realised what might be causing the problem. After I have I created my series 1 conversion, I then load the series 1 project, delete all files except the first one, then add all the series 2 files and delete the first one remaining from series 1, in this way, I keep the formatting and fonts used, just change the title to series 2 and in the Burn tab and save as series 2...
But for some reason, it seeems that doing it this way causing the program some confusion and it still remembers the previous project and thus creates an iso with the same name......
This method of doing multiple series is so helpful to me, saves me time in creating the menu template fonts layout etc....
So if this can’t be avoided, I will have to simply delete the ISO after burning the DVD and remember that even though the ISO is called season 1, it is in fact the ISO for the project last created, unless you can find a solution for me...
Many thanks...sorry I didn’t reveal this earlier, but as I use this method all the time, I didn’t think to mention it.
Thanks

Re: New ISO images not being created
That explains it.
Easiest way to solve is to rename ISO after creation. Most likely on burned disc might still be wrong one but hey.. things happen!

Re: New ISO images not being created
Explains why it’s happening, but not Why it’s happening if you get my drift 😂
Even though I am creating projects in this way, CX2DVD shouldn’t ‘remember’ the previous name for the ISO creation....so it does need sorting.....but as you say I can get around it, but shouldn’t have to.....🤞 VSO work out why this is happening 🙏

Re: New ISO images not being created
I create a video project, once complete I re-open it delete all but ONE title, then add the new collection of titles and deleted the original one left from the previous project. In this way I keep the formatting fonts used background audio etc. etc.
Then I change the project name in the Burning Tab.....BUT the ISO created retains the name from the previous project, which in fact is not anywhere, in any of tabs and the new project is saved with a new name.....so don’t understand why the newly created ISO retains the name from the previous project...
Hope that’s clear
