Re: Trying to write on 8.5GB DVD+R DL
Hi, the only comment i can make (because i rarely burn dual layer media) is use high end quality.
Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden (sold online) never seen in local store here.
These 2 brand media has never failed me in decades...

Re: Trying to write on 8.5GB DVD+R DL
Thanks Cougar I had some Verbatim 8.5 GB DL DVDs here tried and it worked that time. I had used the Fuji DVDs before and they had worked before. But thanks to you I got it done and will not be burning movies that require dual layer again any time in the immediate future, but will use only the Verbatim if I do.
Take care and stay safe.

Re: Trying to write on 8.5GB DVD+R DL
Verbatim DVD+R DL is the only reliable double layer DVD media out there. If Taiyo Yuden makes DVD+R DL, which as far as I knew it didn't, that would probably be quality media, too. I also had good results with TDK's, but I don't know if they still make them. For over 10 years, I've used mostly Verbatim DataLife Plus (NOT the Life Series you find stores. Those are junk.) testing 2 other kinds here and there. The Office Depot ones were unreadable after a year but as I said the TDK ones were still good after a few years.
I'm a beta tester of ImgBurn, and a good majority of the problems we see on the forum there are from cheap (Usually CMC like the Life Series.) double layer DVD media.
