VSO media player is slow and buggy

I have Windows 7. It was way smoother on Windows XP (but not ideal either) when i had even less memory... Very strange.
Perhaps i am missing something ?

Yes, you are missing current technology.
XP is ancient history, Win7 has not been supported or updated by Microsoft for years.
