Audio tracks leave thumbnails blank on Episode Page

Post by Elfino »

Hello all! I am creating a collection of home movies for some relatives. I scanned in 70(!) 3-inch reels and opted to use the ConvertXtoDVD7 Classic TV Menu template since that seemed to work and look the best. When I added audio to the tracks, I noticed that the final burn/product had the thumbnails of many of the episodes missing/blank. When I burn it without the audio all the thumbnails display fine. I tried a reset to VSO Defaults and that didn't help. Both the missing ones and the ones that work are a mix of M4A's and MP3's that seem to have identical properties. Oddly enough, the audio tracks I burned in from CD's that I own seem to display fine, while many of the tracks I downloaded (via iTunes and other ways) appear to leave the thumbnail blank.

I've seen several posts regarding audio & blank thumbnails but none have really helped. If anyone has any insight or advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and happy holidays.

The issue with thumbnails going blank when adding audio might be due to metadata conflicts or file encoding. Re-encode the audio files using software like Audacity or FFmpeg, ensuring they’re in a standard format like MP3 or WAV. You could also try removing metadata tags with tools like MP3Tag or normalizing iTunes tracks by converting them to CD-quality audio before re-adding them. Ensure you’re using the latest version of ConvertXtoDVD7, as older versions may struggle with newer file formats. retro bowl

Elfino,

would you be able to create a .ZIP file with 1 or 2 audio files that is causing the issue, and specific video files that is causing those issues.
Can you pin point specific files ?

Also, can you provide a log file, else more details like:
Converting PAL or NTSC ?
Which theme are you using ? -->
Classic TV Menu template
Any other info that could help me or VSO reproduce this !

--> If you big to add here, please see below !

You can use our platform if you want: https://upload.vso-software.fr/
Username: VSO_users
Password: VSO_users

You can use VSO's file platform if files are too big, create a new folder and put your files in there.
I would like to reproduce this issue, and open an official bug report with VSO...

Thank you !

If you have details on this issue, post it here, I can open an official bug report.
I would also like to reproduce, and document for VSO.
