Also when save setting the busy screen does not close
No.

To sum up what's going on with hardware decoding :
  • If no tests have been performed, the engine will use the first available decoder.
  • If tests have been performed, the engine will use the best available decoder.
Also, in the case of a computer with multiple video cards, the engine will distribute the decoding across all the cards for which tests have been performed. If no tests have been performed, this distribution will not be done, and again, the first available decoder will be chosen.

So to sum up, test are not mandatory but if a computer is equipped with several video cards, the overall performances will be better especially with several encoding at the same time.

Also note that the most unstable acceleration is "Vulkan," which performs very poorly on older video cards. This is why this acceleration is disabled by default.

Ohhh Vulkan is disabled ?
I haven’t notice … (Probably because the tests were done in the past)

I have 2 pc’s with old card and do use it, so I will verify that !
Thank you clarifying all this …
