Hello,
To add a background image to your main DVD menu the (title menu, where all the video files you converted are listed)
a) add you videos files to ConvertXtoDVD that you want to convert
b) click on the "+" next to: DVD Options - "My DVD"
c) double click on Template and select the type of menu you would like to use. Once selected click on the green check mark on the right. ("default, simple menu" will not apply background image- chose a different template)
d) click on the "+" next to: Title Menu parameters
e) double click on: Background video in Title menu
f) use the drop down to select Use a custom file (Video or Still image)
browse to the image and click ok, and then click on the green check mark on the right.
g) beneath this you can select a custom audio file to play if you want. (In the tiltle menus of most templates by default no audio we play.)
h) if you want your root menus to have a background image as well follow the same procedure under each of the files you have added to be converted by clicking on "Menu parameters".
***Currently there is no preview of what your menu will look like before the conversion process (i.e the preview window will not load the image file you selected). A menu preview will come in a future version
You can look at this link for some more information on menu creation:

Hi,
Press + and open all the options under your input file.
Then you will see:
+Menu parameters
+Background video in several menu pages.
Background video in Chapter menu - Use template default
Background video in Root menu - Use template default
Background video in Audio/Subtitle settings menu - Use template default
Press <F2> on any of those, and the option will appear !

Why is the opacity set to default 20 ?
If I want to add my own video/still I would prefer 100% solid
There is also not a hint what the field after the selected video/still is used for. You can learn by misstake but I prefer to have a clue what the different fields are used for.
As for now with defaultset to 20, you must rerender the whole project when one realize that the value 20 was the opacitiy for the added video/still.
If I want to add my own background I am sure that I will have this background as a solid one and not blended into the template background.

Thanks
Am still a bit confused over the naming of the files.
I had cd1 & cd2 to merge & convert, and I was able to rename the "DVD" with the movie title, but I am still seeing "cd1" on the menu screen.
Since I need to name the 2 parts of the movie differently, how can i get only the movietitle to show in the finished menu?
i am also using this version and am unable to double click 'background video in title menu' - no drop down appearsselkov wrote:I am trying to add a custom background to the video.
v3 Rc2.99.10.600
I am not presented with that option.
Have followed the instructions and all I get is the title text in title menu line.
Nothing else.
Has this changed?
Select then give just a single click.bent wrote:i am also using this version and am unable to double click 'background video in title menu' - no drop down appearsselkov wrote:I am trying to add a custom background to the video.
