DVD Converter: new beta version available! (2.1.1.35)

Thanks for the new version.

However, what I am looking for is something better than Handbrake (Open Source). Handbrake only converts a DVD to mv4 which is of limited usefulness for editing the video.

It also seems as if your DVD Converter does a higher quality conversion than Handbrake.

It would be good if DVD Converter would convert to mpg.

It would also be good if VSO would make a general, fast, reliable, high quality video format converter (which I guess DVD Converter is, except it only converts to AVI).

Just found the forum. I was surprised to see a beta version that solved the issues I was having and that I had emailed you about.

I was just about to bin the software, because of the issues, but glad I persisted and the forum link caught my eye.
Could I suggest that you place this version on your download page asap as not everyone will be as persistant and might form a bad impression of the software because of the faults in .19 ( now fixed ).

I have run a few tests using the beta and it works well so far.

Hello, I have an issue with the 1.3.0.2 version. When I load a DVD (in this case from a folder, and it loads OK) the main features show the "DVD feature of the show a bonus episode" and the bonuses section actually have the episodes of the show. The bonuses also show actual bonuses as well as the episodes. I will upload a picture and my log.

1.4.0.1 beta won't even open
just comes up access violation in a continuous loop then have to force close of program

Can't do a screenshot but tried above and still does it. All previous versions stable and beta work perfectly
Im running it on a windows 7 machine

Access violation at address 0045D56 in module 'DVDConverterUltimate.exe'. Read of address 0004305C.

Access violation at address 00000000. Read of address 00000000.

Program now actually runs but keeps showiing up similar windows with lines of text similar to above (different numbers etc) whenever you try to choose output selection at top of screen

Reinstall any previous version and all runs perfectly

ive gone back to 1.4.0.0
it runs perfectly and ive had enough installing and uninstalling different versions
the machine that i run it on is not connected to internet on a permanent basis only if i need to activate anything

the problem i had of not running in 1.4.0.1 has gone away with 1.4.0.2 however another problem has popped up

i go to create a custom profile but when your finished the profile you created disappears and it defaults straight to dvd 4/3

if i select the standard low res xvid everything runs fine

Please can you check if a new xml file is created in custom_profiles folder (under DVD Converter installation path)
If not, can you check if you have write right on this folder?

Just tried a couple of things and found if when i start the program if I "run as administrator" it keeps my custom profile

I wish it was Video Converter not DVD converter

1.4.0.6 transformers dark of the moon region 1 on low res xvid ..........video stuttering and way out of sync
went back to 1.4.0.5 and it ripped perfectly ok
did two other dvds though on 1.4.0.6 and they went ok ( region 1 Assassin Next Door and region 2 eddie murphy film "metro")........maybe just something weird on this film?

I think "transformers dark of the moon" problem was related to CUDA decoder.
This problem should be fixed in last version (1.4.0.7) set as default version on our web site :
