Re: A new Video Converter beta version (1.0.0.26) is out!
Thank you very much, Cédric! Is there a similar feature for the precise cut-off of the end of the video (don't know how to describe it properly, please see attached screenshot)? Or would you recommend to use the cutting tool with F2 to do that?
Thanks again

Hello Senor Rossi,
There's not (yet) an editor to set the precise track end time, but I will add this for the next beta version.

Hi, Cedric
In custom profiles for compression there is no Xvid which is open source unlike Divx (couldn't they think of something better to call the codec other then xvid spelt backwards).
Most USB media playing products in this country like DVD players will support Avi Xvid playback but few support Avi Divx.
If possible could Xvid be added in a future release
Cheers

Hello budda,
You're right, Divx codec will be replaced by Xvid (open source) in next versions...

MP4-H.264 file size and track language
When I convert to MP4-H.264 using the current beta 1.0.0.27, the audio and video track both get marked as "English", regardless of the applied settings. When converting to WebM, the audio track is marked correctly as entered and the video track is language "un".
Also, while the WebM file has a reasonable file size (1.7 MiB for 56 s, 720 px × 576 px, 25 fps), the MP4-H.264 output is seven times as large, despite the same output settings being used.

Hello Senor Rossi,
There's the comment I added in bug report:
"Like you can't set the video language tag in Video converter (you can only set the audio/subtitle lang tag), your report is not really a bug.
Muxers have their own default setting for video track tag, for mp4 it's "und", for WebM it's "Eng"
I think Video language tag is totally useless that's why I haven't added a control to set it."
I will check your bitrate issue with mp4-H264 today, but please give me more details:
- input file resolution
- output formats used for both conversions ("WebM"/"WebM 720p, "MP4-H264")
- output file resolution for both tests
Maybe posting your both log files will be easier....

Re: A new Video Converter beta version (1.0.0.27) is out!
Salut Cédric!
I mentioned the video stream language issue only because I noticed it on the same occasion as I noticed the audio stream language issue. You are probably right, there are only few examples where the video stream language is as important as the audio stream language (like in scenes from the film "Goldmember", for instance).
Concerning the MP4 file size - the video resolutions are all 720 px × 576 px, input and both output files. The output profiles are "WebM" and "MP4 - H264", respectively. I attached a log file containing information for the two conversions.
Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to help you with this issue.

Very good work Cedric. This application is really taking shape the way I like it.
Re: A new Video Converter beta version (1.0.0.31) is out!
No profiles at all can be saved with this latest version.
Re: A new Video Converter beta version (1.0.0.31) is out!
Fixed for the next version... sorry
Re: A new Video Converter beta version (1.0.0.32) is out!
The colon (:) problem appears to be solved but still will not save to NTSC

Re: A new Video Converter beta version (1.0.0.32) is out!
The problem I can see in your screenshot is you're saving an "MPEG-2 PAL" profile under "NTSC 16x9" name.
Re: A new Video Converter beta version (1.0.0.32) is out!
No. It is changing to PAL after I save. The image on the left is the one with my settings. The one on the right is what I find when I open the profile again after saving.cedric wrote:The problem I can see in your screenshot is you're saving an "MPEG-2 PAL" profile under "NTSC 16x9" name.
Re: A new Video Converter beta version (1.0.0.33) is out!
Somthing is going terribly wrong with version 1.0.0.33.
(1) The software is again clearing all the contents of the folder. I have just lost 4 hours work
(2) The above profile problem still persists.
