Network adapter not detected with USB 3G modem

VSO Downloader (3.1.1.10) doesn't find the network adaptor (and therefore doesn't detect any video or audio stream) when I use my 3G USB modem (Huawei HSUPA USB Stick Model MF190). When I'm connected to a 'normal' network, everything works fine (same computer, same stream sources). Is this a permanent shortcoming, or might it be solved soon? Thanks.
