Possible Bug in Default Audio Settings

Post by skoenig1 »

Setup
Video Converter 1.2.0.0, W7 x64, 16 GB Ram, GTX 760 (4GB), i7-2600K

The Bug
Changed default audio settings do not propagate to all titles when asked to.

To Reproduce
- Start a project and drag in some titles. Note the title correctly inherits the default audio settings...(say 10%).
- Change the default audio settings to 20%
- Click ok/yes when asked if you want the settings applied to all files
- Check 'advanced dialogue; for a file and note the audio setting is still at the original when it was first brought in.

Audio Related Suggestion
Add option to mixdown all audio to Dolby Pro Logic II
This would crunch down 5+ channel discrete sound, boost the center channel (over other channels) to maintain good dialogue reproduction and produce a clean stereo sound.

I'm suggesting this specifically because Pro Logic is kind of the last of the stereo multi-channel encoding technology and so would serve as the good way to preserve some of the multi-channel features of discrete sound channels in a clean enough format to work for most players but at a highly reduced data footprint.

I think lots of people like the idea of 5.1 or 7.1 audio but the majority don't have the setup for it and so they end up listening to content on 2.1 or 2 setups anyway - tablet, phones, laptops, pcs, portable players etc are mostly utilized in a 2 or 2.1 (at best) audio output scenario anyway.

Hello skoenig1,

"Changed default audio settings do not propagate to all titles when asked to" -> fixed in 1.2.0.3 version.

Thank you for your feedback!
