Bug: Default offset for title clip back to 0s for all media
It was great when cedric made it start 2 mins in (for media > 30 mins) but at some point it seems to have reverted to 0s for all - it certainly is for 1.2.0.6 unless I messed up somewhere.
From the tracker it's set to default to 0s if the media is less than 30 min and 2 min in if the media is more than 30 mins. Perhaps something went wrong in the logic recently?
Regards
Steph

Thanks for reporting, I've added that info to the bug report, we will see what Cedric finds.
Re: Bug: Default offset for title clip back to 0s for all me
The thumbnail generation mode haven't changed: it start 2 mins in (for media > 30 mins)
But you maybe need to clean the thumb cache folder to force generation with new rules.
If you open a file, the thumb is cached to be be loaded the next time.
Try by cleaning C:\ProgramData\VSO\vsothumbs folder then retry...

Re: Bug: Default offset for title clip back to 0s for all me
Thanks for the suggestion Cedric,
I cleared those cache files and redid a test version. Unfortunately, for me at least, the thumbs are back to starting at the beginning.
Attached the log file and the actual menu m2ts file (thought i named it .log to get it passed your forum setup - sorry) Those a movie length titles but the thumbnail clip is from the beginning of the title...

Re: Bug: Default offset for title clip back to 0s for all me
Hello skoenig1,
I'm thinking that we are not talking about the same thing...
Are you talking about the thumbnail in main interface tree (like me), or are you talking about the video thumbnails in menu?
If you are talking about thumbnails in menu, no rules are applied and video always start to 0s...
I will enter this suggestion in bug report and will fix it for the next release if I have time for.

Re: Bug: Default offset for title clip back to 0s for all me
actually there was a misunderstanding. The change was made in 1.2.0.6 for the interface but not the menu. It will be added for the menu in a coming version.
Sorry about the confusion that was on our side.

HI guys,
Hahaha yes! Yes I was talking about the animated thumbnails within disc menu, it's funny I could have sworn you updated in the menu too but with all the other tests hadn't noticed one way or the other!
Thanks everybody and sorry I wasn't clear to begin with!

Re: Bug: Default offset for title clip back to 0s for all me
I think your request was clear but I didn't transmit the message clearly enough or simply because Cedric has been working so much on the display in the interface he was sure the information was related to that then something else Anyway the change seems to have been made 1.2.0.10 and you tell us if it provides a good result for you?
Re: Bug: Default offset for title clip back to 0s for all me
I had an idea for a tweaking the trigger logic on the 2min clip.
30 Min shows only last about 22mins because they have commercial break.
15 Min cartoons only last about 11 mins for the same reason.
Both these kinds of content are the kind of content most likely to be aggregated on a disc (like VC does so well).
So my suggestion is that you tweak the content duration trigger point from 30 Mins to 10 Mins so that you do the 2min clip point if the content >= 10 Mins long.
Make sense?
