Re: Latest beta version 1.2.0.19
"Hmm" is the last subtitle which I can see in the alicewonderland sample after converting it. The rest of the subtitles will only be visible for a fraction of a second.Claire wrote:what does hmm mean?
Did the converted movie I have uploaded play with subtitles on your machine ?
Re: Latest beta version 1.2.0.19
Glad to be of some help
Re: Latest beta version 1.2.0.20
The DVD subs appear to be working well now. However there is still what appears to be a bug in the numbering of subtitles.
The first picture shows the file when played in VLC player before conversion.
When wiewed in the Advanced editing window the subtitles start from number 2. See Fig. 1
When the converted file is played in the VLC player the number of subtitles starts with number 1. See Fig.2. But there are no subtitles in number 1 track.

Re: Latest beta version 1.2.0.20
Further to the above post, there is also an other problem.
While the subtitles "Merged in video" are quite good. Those in DVD subtitles are quite horrible.

Re: Latest beta version 1.2.0.20
Hello Coral,
1- Do you have the forced subtitle option enabled?
If yes, this track should be this additional track containing forced subtitles (if any)
2- DVD subtitles use a color palette of only 4 colors when merged subtitles is not limited by color number.
I will check if I can increase DVD quality.
Can you tell me if input file resolution is the same as requested for output? (just to know if the improvement must in DVD subtitles resizing or/and in RLE encoding)

Hello Cedric,
Thank you for your reply.
(1) Forced subtitles settings is off (not set)
(2) The resolution is exactly the same 720X576 (PAL)

FYI new beta version posted
Re: Latest beta version 1.2.0.21
Version 1.2.0.21 still produce an exrta reference for a subtitle stream 1 which is empty.Claire wrote:FYI new beta version posted
Please see my post in this thread of Fri May 23, 2014 6:40 am, where it shows the extra subtitle stream 1
This problem does not happen if I convert to DVD Video (VOB VIDEO_TS folder). It only happens when I convert to MPEG2-PS
Re: Latest beta version 1.2.0.21
I was able to confirm this problem of a blank subtitle being added to the conversion result, a problem on XP:

What version have you used that does not have this problem?

Re: Latest beta version 1.2.0.21
I have no idea at the moment. But I'm willing to test older versions if I can get a link to the downloads.

Re: Latest beta version 1.2.0.21
That's right. version 1.2.0.6 dose not produce the extra empty subtitle on WinXP
It would be nice if the next version and others that follow will not have this bug.
