Feature Request: Working audio compressor

Post by cribber »

So whatever setting you set the audio compressor at (for example 70) whenever there is a silent part of the movie, the next time audio is played it is really loud and defeats the purpose of this "normalizer". Is there any way this can be improved (without using something like mp3gain before converting) ?

Audio compressor feature will be replaced by audio normalization:
Audio streams will be parsed to find audio peaks values, and a volume ratio will be applied to whole track to normalize the global volume.

This feature request will be implemented after closing some other important tasks.

This question was asked 7 Months ago, so i'll take that as a NO then ?

Also, the new clip cutting technique is annoying, can't you make a button to Mark the start of the trim and a different button to Mark the end and make the section editable like this :-
AVS Converter.jpg
And include 'Next Frame' and 'Previous Frame' buttons to make it more accurate. Thanks.

Hello windale,

Audio normalization function will replace the audio compressor filter in next version
Also, the new clip cutting technique is annoying, can't you make a button to Mark the start of the trim and a different button to Mark the end and make the section editable like this :-
The cut section area is now editable (move/resize) directly in timeline after insertion. Why do you want an useless "Time end" button?

Looking forward to this long awaited feature.

I would like 'Next Frame' and 'Previous Frame' buttons so you can find the exact frame starting point to cut then press a 'Mark Start' button, then find the exact frame ending point and press 'Mark End'. This would be much more accurate than dragging a red bar.

Thanks.
