I have noticed a drastic drop in audio bitrate/channels when converting 7-channel audio blu-rays. No matter what number of audio channel settings that I choose in a custom profile, or when leaving it "Same as source (if compatible)", the number of channels is dropped to 2 and bitrate is usually converted to a low number compared to version 1.4.0.18. It does this when AAC or AC3 is selected for codec. Versions .18 and older convert the 7-channel file to 6-channel with a high megabit rate, and it sounds awesome.
Media Info and VC log files attached:
P.S. Also getting a DCA decoder error in the log file. Is this expected?
And I also had 2-pass selected, but it's not selected in the log. This time I wasn't remuxing, I don't think.

Re: Reduced audio quality when converting 7-channel discs
Sorry for the delay. Tried with latest (1.5.0.9b) and still does the same thing. Posting MediaInfo for original and converted files. Trying to convert 7-Channel DTS, Audio #1 into 6-Channel (or 7-Channel) AAC. Versions 1.4.0.18 and older did this very well. I think something happened when HD audio remuxing was introduced. The VSO log file looks the same as original posted file. I have the custom setting set to AAC and number of channels set to 'Same as original'.cedric wrote:Hello MyMojo,
