I've found a rather annoying bug in this latest version. I was doing a straight rip from a blu-ray disc and the converter estimated the size to be over 9 terabytes, which is more than a bit absurd. Normally I wouldn't care about the estimated size, but the converter will no longer let me convert if it thinks I don't have room. Please add an option to ignore the space warning, as my NAS has over 8 terabytes free and I have to rip every episode individually with this newest version just to get past the required space error.

With the latest versions (3.5.0.10 and 3.5.0.11beta) I'm getting significant worse output quality than before (3.4.0.22). Very blocky videos and progressively worse as the video plays. Tried my usual Nexus 10 profile and the new iPhone 6 plus profile with the same blocky results. Revert back to 3.4.0.22 and the problem went away for the same multiple bluray .iso that I was converting. Settings were inherited from 3.4.0.22 to the 3.5.0.xx.

Can you post a log file from either of those conversions? A log file from each version would be great!

Here are the two log files. Identical source of the movie "Blended" ripped iso. Settings were the same as far as I could remember except I tried the iPhone 6 plus profile in 3.5.0.11. The video converted by 3.5.0.11 has significant blockiness.

Hi,

when I rip a DVD, I always get ENGLISH instead of GERMAN.

I'm just trying the 2nd time to rip the DVD "The Big Lebowski" with 3.5.0.20 (never tried it before with another version!)

http://www.amazon.de/Big-Lebowski-Jeff- ... g+lebowski

(although format is printed 1.85:1 on DVD and not 1.77:1 as on Amazon),

and select GERMAN ... but the final rip as

---- Output container informations ----
* Name: Mpeg2-TS
* File extension: ts

---- VIDEO track informations ----
If possible, video stream will be copied (remuxed).
Otherwise, it will be encoded using these settings:
* codec: mpeg2video
* framerate: Same as source (if compatible)
* width: Same as source (if compatible)
* height: Same as source (if compatible)
* aspect ratio: Same as source (if compatible)

---- AUDIO tracks informations ----
If possible, audio streams will be copied (remuxed).
Otherwise, they will be encoded using these settings:
* codec: ac3
* channel count: Same as source (if compatible)
* samplerate: Same as source (if compatible)Hz

---- SUBTITLE tracks informations ----
If possible, subtitle streams will be copied (remuxed).
Otherwise, they will be encoded using these settings:
* codec: dvd_subtitle

is always ENGLISH.

VSO Player 1.4.9.495 plays it correctly from the original DVD when I switch to GERMAN.

I have it ... I think it's a bug!

Although I've selected "deu" (German) only (see screen shot) - all audio tracks have been copied (due the profile? see above!).

In VSO Player when I play the ripped file I can switch the audio track to German.

Shouldn't only "deu" (German) be filtered?

Here from the ripped file ... English + German audio tracks:

Audio #1
ID : 257 (0x101)
Menu ID : 1 (0x1)
Format : AC-3
Format/Info : Audio Coding 3
Mode extension : CM (complete main)
Format settings, Endianness : Big

Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz
Bit depth : 16 bits
Compression mode : Lossy
Stream size : 360 MiB (9%)

Audio #2
ID : 258 (0x102)
Menu ID : 1 (0x1)
Format : AC-3
Format/Info : Audio Coding 3
Mode extension : CM (complete main)
Format settings, Endianness : Big
Codec ID : 129
Duration : 1h 52mn

When I change to profile from

---- AUDIO tracks informations ----
If possible, audio streams will be copied (remuxed).
Otherwise, they will be encoded using these settings:
* codec: ac3
* channel count: Same as source (if compatible)
* samplerate: Same as source (if compatible)Hz

to

---- AUDIO tracks informations ----
Audio streams will be encoded using these settings:
* codec: ac3
* channel count: Same as source (if compatible)
* samplerate: Same as source (if compatible)Hz

and also only select "deu" German only (as screen shot above), I only get GERMAN.

Finally this is a bug and must be fixed.

When "If possible, audio streams will be copied (remuxed)." is selected in a profile, then all languages will be copied and not only those (the one - German in my case) selected.

Hello dosibo51,

I tried to reproduce your problem without success...
I created a custom profile using:
- "DVD PAL" as File format
- VIDEO: Checked "Copy (remux) if possible...", selected MPEG-2 PAL Video as codec, "Same as source (if compatible)" for framerate
- AUDIO: Checked "Copy (remux) if possible...", selected AC3 (DVD compatible) as codec, "Same as source (if compatible)" for all fields
- SUBTITLE: Copy option not checked, Embed in video selected.

With this profile, I always get (only) the audio tracks I selected in main interface (tree view) in output.

Please can you post your custom profile (located here: C:\ProgramData\VSO\DVD Converter Ultimate\3\custom_profiles)?
Can you post the log file of this conversion?

Hi,

I've retested it with the existing profile and also created a new profile ... and it works correctly. Also the .xml looks identical.

Believe me that I have no idea ... maybe it happens again sooner or later.

Sorry for the time - but I've ripped it 3 times before - not just for fun and looked what I've selected.

Thanks!

Hello dosibo51,

This is a good news!
I trust you about all your test results you posted before...
I think I maybe have the reason of this strange behaviour: I added some parameters fixes functions in custom profile editor...
So I think that your problem was fixed when you opened your custom profile editor THEN SAVED IT.

Thank you for posting your feedbacks here...
