I was on holiday last week and away. I installed 3.5.0.26b and just 3.5.0.27b today.

The crash during the start of the process: "An error occured while converting." still happens when I try to start converting e.g. the ABBA Super Trouper DVD.

I don't know if this should be fixed - didn't find all change logs from the past betas maybe?

Although the crash happens I can see that the directory creation works.

But I meant that the "output folder generation method" should be part of the profile and not only from the general settings. Individual generation depending on the profile. But it's ok yet. Could be added in a later release.

actually no "new" change will be made. Cedric however did change the behavior so that you will get a working solution because from general settings "add project name in path" will be applied to specific output folder selected in custom profile

maybe we speak from different things. That is not that what I mean and want.

Do you mean the selection "Create one titleset by chapter when loading a file?". If yes, I've selected it but still got one 1,2 GB .mp4 file (tested with the profile "MP4 - Mpeg4") with all music videos.

What I want is a selection in the custom profile settings - when set - each chapter in a title will create a single file per chapter. So I have each music video - which are chapters in a title - as single files.

This must be per custom profile of course because I only want singles files per chapters from music video DVDs - not from normal films.

From design the best is a selection box in the custom profile / step 1 file format - below the output folder section: "<selection>: Create singles files per chapter". File name should be as usual for the title extended by the chapter number separated by underscore "_99":

So e.g. for my ABBA DVD above which has just created the file name "ABBA_SUPER_TROUPER.mp4" should then create:

ABBA_SUPER_TROUPER_01.mp4
ABBA_SUPER_TROUPER_02.mp4
ABBA_SUPER_TROUPER_03.mp4
..
ABBA_SUPER_TROUPER_26.mp4

That's it.

Do you think that will be possible until end of March? (I'm DJ in a very big club on 11th April where I can play music videos and would convert all my 50 music DVDs which I have at the moment).

This thing is interesting; it does split some DVDs by chapter, but not all.
I'm trying to find out what is the difference, I will report back tomorrow when I find something.

Interesting ... I'll try some other music DVDs also tomorrow morning. Only tested with this ABBA DVD.

I did some testing with Karaoke DVDs from same manufacturer.
When dragging video_ts in DVD converter;
One disc was recognized correctly, all 28 songs as chapters and could be converted.
Other was not so good, only 25 out of 28 was found.

Loading video_ts.ifo found only 8 chapters out of 28.

Main menu was not found with any attempt, some commercials were found.

So it seems that parsing a DVD to find chapters is not working properly.

Then I tried opening those discs with VLC - finds main menu and plays all tracks from there.
Opening with VSO player produces same results as converter, all chapters are not picked up.

Regarding my ABBA DVD, The chapters are found correctly when you click ADVANCED EDIT for the title, then the 3rd icon - all 26 chapters are displayed correctly. So parsing should work - but it doesn't for splitting the chapters into own files. ;-)

Hello,

I am not sure you are checking the setting that will allow you to split the chapters.

You must check this setting and only once checked, load your DVD into the interface.

The same DVD will load different with or without the settings checked.

My Harry Potter DVD loads this way when the setting is not checked

JJ, although your problem is similar I think it is related to our discriminator rather than this new split by chapter function.

Shows the chapters as titles - as in your example above - when loading from DVD structure from hard disc.

Then used mp4-h264 profile to convert the files and works.

But crashed with custom profile - same as for DVD Converter. As you confirmed here http://forums.vso-software.fr/br-dvd-co ... tml#p93152 that the bug http://bugs.vso-software.fr/view.php?id=9372 should be fixed.

Do you enabled the good chapters settings before loading your DVD?
- Chapter generation method: Keep source chapters
- "Create one titleset by chapter when loading a file" enabled

But crashed with custom profile - same as for DVD Converter.

Like I said in bug description, the problem is in your custom profile...
You're requesting a too high audio bitrate for AAC (384Kbit/s by channel!).
You need to check/know the codec limitations before creating a custom profile: AAC need an audio bitrate by channel from 20Kbit/s to 112Kbit/s.
I added a check in AAC encoder to limit audio bitrate, but you must update your custom profile to stay in codec standards.

You are right there is a bug in DVD Converter

Sorry for having you do the extra testing and not having a solution yet. Should be fixed in the next build.
