search and skip functions in hardware players
The search and skip functions dont work properly in my blu ray player, using blurays created with ConvertXtoHD. IF use fast forward button the image freeze and dont move. IF I use the skip button, the image freeze, but the audio plays normally. I dont have this problem in software players in my computer

Re: search and skip functions in hardware players
I'm having a similar issue, using version 1.0.0.37. Fast forward and rewind both cause the picture to freeze in exactly the same manner as if I'd hit pause. When I hit "play," it resumes without issue. Pause itself works fine. In my case, however, chapter skip works as expected, both forward and backward.
Here is my log:

Re: search and skip functions in hardware players
OK, I installed 1.0.0.40 and FF/REW work! Mostly.
There is still one issue. Normally, when you fast forward or rewind, you can see the picture moving forward or backward at high speed. It does that very occasionally, but mostly the picture freezes on the screen. However, it does keep fast forwarding or rewinding as it should, so the core functionality is working, you just can't see where it is so you have to guess when to hit play.

Hello,
What happens when you do this with a commercial blu-ray disk (an original) in your player?

Re: search and skip functions in hardware players
It works as expected. Both fast forward and rewind work properly at each of the three speeds the player supports, and the picture accurately reflects the position in the timeline.Claire wrote:Hello,

As of version 1.0.0.41, the issue has gotten worse - it's back to pausing instead of FF/Rew, though now I'd say it's perhaps 75% of the time rather than 100%. When it does work, the picture does not reflect the current point in the timeline - it just stays on the frame it was on when I pressed the button.
Re: search and skip functions in hardware players
We reproduced the issue, we are working on it.
By the way if encoded with cuda the problem does not seem to happen, at least on our BR player.

Cool! So, dumb question - to do that, just enable hardware h.264 encoding?Claire wrote:We reproduced the issue, we are working on it.

Re: search and skip functions in hardware players
yes (according to our tests in 1 player here) but it will only work you do have that video card or another one (and for the others I didn't test them)

I do have an NVIDIA card, and I believe it supports CUDA. I'll double-check and if it does, I'll give it a try.Claire wrote:yes (according to our tests in 1 player here) but it will only work you do have that video card or another one (and for the others I didn't test them)

Re: search and skip functions in hardware players
I burned a disc with both h.264 encoding and decoding enabled. The fast-forward worked for a second or two, and then the picture froze and it was back to the previous behavior - chapter skip works fine, fast-forward or rewind result in a paused image that can be resumed by hitting the play button.
Re: search and skip functions in hardware players
thanks for reporting, we are still working on a fix.

Re: search and skip functions in hardware players
Thank you! I'll keep checking the beta releases and give it another go if I see that issue mentioned in the notes.
Re: search and skip functions in hardware players
Is there a fix on the way?. I'm having this issue as well. I'm using CUDA to encode the video also and I can't FF or Chapter skip via menus. I get audio but no video. If I let the movie play without interaction it's perfectly.
