It's strange but encoding with CUDA goes only in one proc. on my GTX590. Maybe it's because of latest NVidia drivers? ver.353.06

Im trying the Intel Quick Sync conversion, but in the Frame Rate is really low, it is showing 11 - 12 FPS.
Is that the average framerate got with Quick Sync?

I ve got a Core i7 -4810MQ CPU, 2.80 GHz, quad core, Intel HD 4600 Graphics
It seens too slow to this CPU.

Software encoding is far more fast, with 40 FPS.

Isnt the hardware encoding supposed to be faster?

Hardware encoding/decoding can only be done some formats, not all.

Hello,

@Maikel : "Isnt the hardware encoding supposed to be faster?"
It depends of your CPU speed...
If you have an old/slow computer with a CUDA capable card, using hardware encoding will be far faster than using CPU.
If you have a recent/fast computer, use of QuickSync API can be slower...

BUT, I have a computer almost like your (Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5Ghz with Intel Graphic 4600) and I get an average encoding rate of 130Fps using QuickSync HARDWARE (1080p output)...
Are you sure that you selected QuickSync HARDWARE and not SOFTWARE?
If yes, can you try to encode using QuickSync SOFTWARE encoder to compare?
Can you post your log files?

@ROBERT46055: Thank you for your feedback, will be fixed in next beta.

Regards,

The Intel Quick Sync software encode isnt avaliable. Its greyed out.

Maybe it isnt compatible with the latest Graphics driver.. I`ve tried with the verstions 10.18.15.4204 and 10.18.14.4222.
With Core i5 5200 2.2 Ghz, Graphics 5500 and Core i7 4810 2.8 Graphics 4600

In both notebooks the software Quick Sync cant be enabled

In both pcs the hardware encoder has low encoding fps, with 10 fps.
In my latest test the convertion was with 4 FPS.

Here is a conversion log, with a 1080p with 5 minutes lenght.

Hello,

Can you try by disabling hardware decoding? (set the maximum instances for DXVA2 to 0)

I think i`ve found something interesting.

Both laptops I did test have dual GPUs. One integrated (Intel), and a offboard one, Geforce.
After manually setting the Nvidia Control Panel to use only the integrated graphics, the FPS went to 48 FPS with the Intel 4600 Graphics, with hardware decoding disabled.
If I enable hardware decoding, it went from 48 FPS to 68 FPS.
GPU-Z tells me the the Video Load is only 30%.

It seens the Nvidia control panel tries to use the Geforce GPU to do the Intel Quick Sync, and that makes the convertion FPS drops to 10 FPS.

Maybe there should have and option to use the integrated gpu or offboard gpu in the ConvertX software

When I add 4 videos to the project, and put the max simmultaneous conversions to 2, the first two starts encoding, the first video is encoded with Quick Sync and the other one with NVENC. It seens that ConvertXtoHD likes the Quick Sync encoding, and put it first.

But, I have 2 GPUs cards on my notebook, and it seens that the ConvertXtoHD sends both conversions to the Nvidia card, which is the fastest one. Nvidia doesnt have the Quick Sync tecnology, and it is encoding the video with 10 FPS with Quick Sync. The NVENC encodes the video 8x faster.

There should be an option to select the encoders I want to use, like in ConvertXtoVideo, or use only the tecnologies supported to the card.

No, Cinavia is protection done by manufacturer of original movies.
It survives conversion from different formats, so it has been on your original source.
Some BR players are not checking for Cinavia when playing non-BR material, but when playing BR format they are required to check for it.

In your case - your BR player is not checking mp4. Is it LG?

Some BR players are not checking mp4 files for Cinavia, some users are collecting a list of those models. Use Google to find it.
All BR players should be checking for Cinavia when playing BR format.

Avast Free Antivirus 2015 reports this version to be infected with Win32:Banker-MGC trojan
on my Windows 10 system, both on installation and program execution.

I imagine this is a false-positive, but can you confirm this please?

Cheers, Chris

It seems that Avast has once again flagged some legal products as malware.
Check with some other AV scanner, there are several that can even do it online.

False positive problem notified to Avast (and Webroot) team.
Should be fixed in next definition update...
