Let's face it, YouTube is Bigger and Stronger than VSO. They have the resources.

Looks like VSO Downloader is a lost cause. Might as well start looking for other options. VSO is a dead end.

It was fun (But pricey) while it lasted.
Nice try! But don't speak too soon, the next Downloader improvements may prove you wrong.

No matter which browser I use, YT automatically adds the 's' . Any way to make the s not come back?

I have been a gold member for years and this is only the 2nd software I downloaded. Too bad it's turning out to be a dud :(

You need to be sure that there is NO logged in accounts.
No google, youtube, maybe even FB account might affect this.
Also set browser to allow nonsecure http if there is a setting for it in your browser. Delete all cookies and browser caches.

I have tested several times with Win7 system that does not have any accounts set in it, and I have no problems downloading from Youtube.
No problems getting http instead of https.

Thanks for the tips. I tried Incognito and after a 'stutter' it seemed to download fine....

After trying on multiple computers I came to the conclusion that Chrome no longer will allow http in you tube. Chrome always changes back to https
- I created a new user account on the PC
- deleted all Chrome accounts
- Deleted all history and all cookies and did not allow any new cookies
- Never logged in to any accounts

Using Firefox for Youtube allows me to change to http. - Problem fixed

I can still use Chrome for my Google accounts without any issues.

I know it's not supported, but can you give us some explanation why it's not supported, please ?

it is not yet supported as there are many layers for each protocol to support and this one has not been implemented yet.

a little bump on this thread to say, I suggest downloading 5.0.0.22 or higher and see what happens . . . (and no need to copy paste those URLs) 8)

Benjamin,

VSO Downloader is simply not working any longer. I've used your product for a few years now, so I already know how to do various workarounds. Why is YouTube not downloading any longer?! Should it be taken off your list of download sites?! I hope not. Please tell me you're aware of the latest blocking efforts of YouTube and you're doing new coding to bring back the functionality...

Thanks,
GraphicsLover

There are still issues with v5.0.1.60

I have zero issues on my Main PC but have the exact issues on my Laptop, I even lose internet connectivity when Downloader .60 is running...

Read this --> autodection-issue-with-downloader-a-tem ... 20615.html

Go back to .56 and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

The Engine Update will occur and you should be able to download video.

Let's see if .61 or + build will solve all those issues !!!
