Why does it take so long to burn to blu-ray?

I said, try other software and test your drive for speed. And maybe firmware of your pioneer can only write on low speed too. You should wait for new version about a year till they update it. You can do anything with it.

Does this support full uncompressed 7.1 HD audio yet?

You did not read the LOG there is nothing wrong with my Pioneer burner. It took 22 hours to get to the state that burning could start.

If I wanted to use other software, why would I bother to use ConvertXtoHD.

You said that after conversion CX just waiting for 22 hours and only then starting to write the disk? Am i right? Or if you want faster conversion you should to switch on hardware encoding/decoding it will speed up conversion. My takes about 40 mins.

Hi
Just converted a movie to AVCHD and 2 things happen
1. I put in a custom dvd-9 size (7700)mb as the max size but the program will always overburn above the size i have specified.(see attached log)
2. when the conversion is finished and it automatically burns to disc it burns it a a DATA disc(this is what comes up when i put it in a Bluray Player)if i burn an already converted project it will burn AVCHD and play automatically when i insert the disc in the player.

Suggestion In the Encoding page, under the Target Size Heading could you please add 2 drop down boxes for AVCHD like you have in ConvertXtoDVD eg (DVD-5 (4300 MB),DVD-9 (7700 MB).

I have also found the program extremely slow to encode a movie,As i do not have an Nvidia Graphics Card,I have an AMD 7900 series card, and i have not enabled hardware decoding yet(might this help speed up the process?).

I am using the latest beta 1.0.0.3
I have purchased a lifetime key for this,as i really like where this program is going as it is so easy to use just like you other program ConvertXtoDVD,
Keep up the great work.
Regards
Renits

Hello Normtil67,

Are you saying that it took 22 hours AFTER conversion BEFORE it started to burn? And igor_lvk was only trying to help. Basically he was saying is if you can test burning with another program, preferably IMGBurn, to see if it's either your burner or on VSO's end. Please post your burning logs as well.

Thanks for reading,
Neil M

Hi
The Program is getting there but i must say i'm disappointed with the lack of high quality menu templates, they are all the same as convertXtodvd! are you planning any better ones?

Are you seriously asking for some fine tuning like menu templates in alpha-stage program?
First things first, all important stuff needs to work well before fiddling with minor things like templates.

I hear what you say, but I've converted a couple of films and all went well, but I'm reluctant to pay for an alpha version when the templates are so poor.

It needs high quality animated templates that would suit a blu ray disc.

Remuxing hd audio was fixed in Video Converter, it is possible it has also been fixed here too.

Sorry I haven't been following up on the thread regularly (other priorities...).
I will be more present and reread the thread.

If any of the original issues you reported in this thread are still problems in the current beta, please copy paste the problem or link to your post number and confirm it is still an issue with the latest beta and I will report it.

Thanks you all for your help and support!

Here is an example log. And CX2hd is hanging up on 2-pass anyway. I can't make a test.

Every time I try to do anything this message comes up...The video looks to be upload properly and from there if I try to edit, clip or even watch the video this message comes up and shuts down the program. I'm running Windows 8

"ConvertXtoHD transcoder has stopped working"'

"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available".

I'm stuck...is there anything I can do to remedy this issue.

about this info in the log
[encoder][h264]: H.264 preset slower not found
I don't get this, and it seems you don't get it for every file converted either.

If you convert only Macarena.vob do you still get that info in the log?
Could you send us the file?

Can you play the file with VLC before trying to put it in ConvertXtoHD?
Can you post your log file too please?
