Hi
Have downloaded this program using various browers.
With/without A/V etc running.
My problems.
Hangs on structure checking.
Fails towards end of Processing (about 75/80%).
Have tried using
Pioneer BDR-203
LG GGCH20L
Lite-On iHOS-104 (ROM only)
Any ideas folks?
TIA
Edit: Tried all three video quality settings too.

Hi,
Can you give me the version you're using?
For your information, you can use our updater checker to know if a new product version is available.
Click on settings icon (in top right), Tools then "Check for update"
I'm waiting for your feedback...

Hi
Using latest 1.0.0.1.
According to updater all s/w is latest.
Have now tried 10 discs + iso files mounted.
PC is running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
Have removed other DVD authoring s/w just to see if I had any conflicts going on.
The Structure check varies from disc to disc in terms of how long it hangs for.
But on average is about 2 mins.
When using mounted iso's.
It is virtually instant, when going from Structure check to Process.
Processing fails from about 50% (worst) > 80% (best).

Hi,
It seems your problem can be with your Virtual drive.
Have you tried to convert by using a physical BD media?
Maybe should I work around adding "open ISO file" feature in software?

Hi
Check 1st post.
I have tried using the following discs.
Swordfish - Total Recall - Beetlejuice - Terminator 2 - Goodfellas - Basic Instinct - The Matrix (3 discs) - Bourne Identity (3 discs).
Using all three drives
Pioneer BDR-203
LG GGCH20L
Lite-On iHOS-104 (ROM only)
as source.

Hi
Have found success, only by disabling the burn process.
Choosing to do this with a 3rd party s/w.
I have to say that the end product wasn't quite of the quality I expected.
Compared to other s/w.
Not sure if this is in part due to trial mode.

Hi,
Are you talking about final video quality?
How long is the movie you converted?
Which program give you best video quality?
Thank you!

Hi
Have now tried the latest beta.
It appears to have a marginal improvement with quality.
Obviously screen size has a an affect on this.
My smallest screen is 32".
Largest 42".
Picture is prone to "pixelate" when fast movement is involved.
Subtitles when viewed in full screen are a bit blurred. But readable.
I still seem to have to disabled the auto burn part of the program to complete the "Processing".
So far all have been DVD5.
Trying DVD9 just out of interest.

Hi,
Please take a look at this :
http://forums.vso-software.fr/video-quality-t13156.html
Can you try to check the video quality on your PC first?
Maybe your quality problems are due to resize applied to video by TV and/or DVD-Blu-ray players (from DVD resolution to 1080p/720p).
Thanks.

Hi
I had seen this earlier.
Interestingly I have Panasonic (32" led monitor/TV + 42" led TV + Blu-ray player).
So all my viewing whether PC or TV is 1920x1080.
My problems are different (at least so it appears to me).
I am possibly expecting too much.
After all you are going from HD to SD.
My past experiences have been rebuilding & keeping the HD structure.
Part of why I am now trying DVD9.

Hi zebadee,
You're not expecting too much... the problem is playing SD video files on (very
) huge TV screen always add edge effects.
That can be unbelievable, but if you try to play the DVD you created with Blu-ray converter on old TV screen will give a best quality!
The problem is the DVD width resolution is 720 but your TV native screen width is 1920. 1920/720 (like 1080/576 for the height) is not an integer value, and resize process done by your Blu-ray player or/and TV screen add very weird effects.
I think converting with a bigger output size (DVD9) will not fix your problem. Our DVD encoding engine is really optimized, and converting movies like AVATAR (less than 3 hours) will give good results with DVD5.
Like you said, the only way to fix this issue is by converting with same output resolution as your native screen. (1920x1080)
Maybe you can try by using Blu-ray converter HD output profile like generic video/1080p or PS3 HD 1080p... but will result by bigger output files.
We are working on x264 encoder with 1080p resolution (using AVCHD, AVI and MKV containers) and this type of output will be the best for your case.
I will inform you when a version with this type of output is available, be sure you will be happy to see the result
Thank you to have provided your test results!

Hi cedric,
Thanks for your responses.
I am already seeing marginal improvements with the program.
Time taken to do the task is less than half that of my alternative program.
Though quality isn't the same.
Works for the kids.

Hi
Well having spent more time (+ using latest beta
http://oasis.vso-software.fr/Beta/Blura ... .0.0.2.exe ).
This program is definately growing on me.
For HDD storage you can backup using "Generic video - 1080p".
Target size DVD9.
This gives a avi file of 7.99GB.
Playback results are very good indeed.
In this mode time taken akin to that of BD Rebuilder. (i.e. for most 4 hrs maybe).
Being a novice I have not tried convertion so I have a disc playable on my standalone device.

Hi
What to do to get serial # for Ultimate version?
Have tried clicked on "Upgrade" via downloads.
Have emailed support.
Even sent a PM to some one here.
(Who has helped others.)
Still nothing.
This has been frustrating for me.
Despite the time of the year.
Other software has still given 100% support in my experience.
Maybe others have presented an unrealistic view of VSO.
If it was practical, I would at this moment in time go for a refund.
Sorry this negative.
But better out than in.
Cheers

Hi zebadee,
VSO can't sell you a Blu-ray converter Ultimate unlock key at this time because this software version is in beta state at this time.
I hope you can undertand we don't want to use registered users as beta testers...
The only one users allowed to get a Blu-ray converter Ultimate unlock keys at this time are the Golmembers users.
But like you done a lot of helpfull tests, I sent you a private message talking about your Ultimate version key request...
Thanks.
