Hello,

I have the following 2 errors whenever I try to download something from youtube.

->Socket error: Aborted (3)
->HTTP error: Connection aborted on request (404)

Here is a link I try to download: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMbPpadKuyI

I tried to go to Help -> Detect my first video now and this works perfectly and very well I must say.

I have Cable High-Speed connection.

Let me know what I can do and what information I can get for you guys.

Hello Etdashou and welcome to the forum,

I have no problem downloading this video. What version do you have? And have you changed any download settings (threads, buffer size...) ?

Maybe your log file will help. Please right click on your video in VSO Downloader, and select "view log", then open it (via "open log" at the bottom), save the file and attach it to your reply.

The problem here is you clicked on File > New > Download, but this is a direct download feature. So if you enter a URL, it will not download it because it does not end with an extension.
We are working on a clearer interface so that there is no more confusion about this. A new version is on its way.

To get your video, just go to the video page with the streaming monitoring enabled (look at this tutorial), the media will get listed in the Downloader.

aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Ok I understand. I need to have the app opened and also open the video on my browser. It works.

I must admin that I would prefer a lot more to copy paste the url and then download it. I don't know why lol. But now I understand.

I think I should start a new topic on this but: Is there any way to get the mp3 out of the files? Or to download only the mp3?

I will search this out.

However, you can consider the topic [solved].

I started a new topic about the mp3, so don't bother please.

I have tried your "Monitor Clipboard" and each time it does scan a youtube page but it says = No Media found, which is strange.

However Monitor webpage is OK.
