I did not read your reply properly and set both high compatibility for audio and video in v 1.2.2.7 and got very confusing results? I have converted several DVDs thinking that everything was fine?
I had not seen the popup information under hight compatibility mode being relevant to divx and didn't really know what it was.
An avi was produced that plays properly in Nero Kwik media player but plays with absolutely non-synchronised sound in divx player. I can't even figure out where the sound comes from it is so much out of whack? i have never had problems with divx and do not know how valid the file is?
The log is a bit strange as well - the highlighted coloured sections contradict each other?

Any clues - is the fault with the divx player?
