oh and for the record mkv from the default presets work and the profile I was testing came from a encode done with handbrake that plays fine?
DVD Converter seemed to import the profile correctly just the output is messed up. My own Setting on a custom profile same messed up result.

Container = mp4
codex = x264
resolution = same as source
framerate = same as source

Thanks

After a little more testing doing short 1 minute encodes of bonus material. Changing settings check the results I figured out the problem, there is a flaw in the program.

640x480, mp4 or mkv, h264, 25fps = good results

640x480, mp4, h264, any framerate = good results

1280x720, mp4 or mkv, h264, 25fps = good results

720x480, mp4 or mkv, h264, 25fps = bad encode like the pic show

There is something wrong in the 720x480 resolution

Hello Sat32... I'm here!

I will work on your problem today, a new beta with fix will be published too.
Can you say me if source DVD is interlaced?
It seems the problem appear when no resize is needed in conversion process?

Thank you!

Source 720x576 from CxD, so no interlace.
Conversion to 720x480 custom h264 mkv, 25fps and 23.97fps, green stripes on top of picture.
Conversion to 720x576 custom h264 mkv, 25fps, green stripes on top of picture.

Conversion to PAL DVD, no problems.
Conversion to 640x320 custom h264 mkv, 25fps, no problems.

Seems that it is as Sat32 found out, Custom Profile creation is making the problem with normal DVD resolutions.
Resizing height is not affecting, maybe resizing width might - but there is no option for other DVD resolutions in Custom.

my source I was using was DVD NTSC 720 X 480 Progressive.

I don't think the issue is the "same as source" Setting it just happened to be 720 x 480 where the problem is.

I also tried turning off hardware acceleration thinking it might be a issue with nvidia's drivers.
Encodes with acceleration off failed totally within a few seconds.

Thanks

Hello,

I can't reproduce your problem here...
Tried 720x576 & 720x480 as output resolution and picture is OK!
I attached the custom profile I used for my tests, can you check if problem appear?

I worked around video processing in last beta version ( 2.1.1.8 ), maybe the problem was sorted out in this version:

http://oasis.vso-software.fr/Beta/Blura ... .1.1.8.exe

I'm waiting for your feedback...

Thank you.

Same problem with new version and your profile, green stripes across screen.

mp4 encoding without hardware acceleration worked

Simultaneous gpu encoding through up an error "worked before"

Encoding 720 X 480 the hardware acceleration crashing program most of the time
when it did work was the same result as before black & white with green lines.

There a bigger flaw now Can't set the limit bit rate over 999 if you try to raise it past that with arrow
the program exits, if you try to type in a number higher than 999 it exits.

Thanks

Hello,

I will add processor optimization capabilities in next version log.
I think the problem can be in sse2 resizing optimizations, will try to disable sse4 here to see if I can reproduce.

Regards.

Works in my Virtual XP but not in my win7 system.
Something seems to be with CPU settings.

just did a quick test on VSO Blu-ray Converter Ultimate and it has the same issue with 720 x 480

Seems that the new versions weren't quite ready for prime time, Still Beta! releases

On a brighter note, The free handbrake converter still works great
and I figured how to do sub titles with it!

Did I mention handbrake is FREE and works better then the software I paid for.

Thanks
