no media detection

hi Claire how are you? i was told about that and have tried numerous media never before attempted that icon top right says streaming active i've tried from utube emptied all casche but there was only a couple of ads i'd never seen and thats it. all other remedies suggested tried them too, but no joy. please advise thanx
