having trouble with a couple of sites the first - http://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/#/Menu/P ... ary/Latest
downloads as live recording and when it gets to the end just continually retries
the second - http://video.pbs.org/ does not detect at all
any help?

Both sites are restricted to Australia, not available anywhere else.
First requires registration even if inside Australia.

To find out why these do not work, VSO needs access to computer in Australia.
Easiest is to setup Teamviewer session to your computer if you are willing to do it.

Someone from VSO should contact you if you allow it.

Can you tell me if the latest version 3.1.1.8 works now with these sites?
