Setup
Video Converter 1.2.0.0, W7 x64, 16 GB Ram, GTX 760 (4GB), i7-2600K, rending content 480p and 576p to a dual layer 46 GB BR Disc
Bit Rate Calcs
I've burned two really full discs - thanks for even making it possible! In both cases the DL BR discs came in with about 5-7 GB free over about 50 movies. I.e the files were about 39 GB for a dual layer BR disc. Not complaining because I watched several of the titles and they're really watchable on portable screens - good job!.
It is ok for me to increase the size of the disc that VC thinks it's has by manually entering a slightly larger BD target size (maybe 50GB) so that a little bit more is added for each file?
I appreciate that the current settings are probably a result of the previous version which did over allocate with some media leading to larger file sizes than anticipated.
I've attached the logs in case they might be useful.
Resize Filter
I downsized using Cubic VSO which seems like a good filter - do you have suggestions for a better filter as I'm not sure which of the others try (or you have a guide - I couldn't find one.). I'm not worried about rending time or computational power purely quality for a given bitrate - yes I appreciate I'm putting a lot of movies on one disc but they come out pretty well at 576p.
Regards
Steph

Re: Possible bit rate / quant adjustment for improvement
You could do this. Note however that some changes were made in the latest beta versions so what was true in the old version you were using may no longer be true.It is ok for me to increase the size of the disc that VC thinks it's has by manually entering a slightly larger BD target size (maybe 50GB) so that a little bit more is added for each file?
As for filters, there has been discussions about them in other VSO forums, I suggest searching for previous recommendations that have been made.
