Windows behaviour. Can be changed from windows settings or with extra programs.

with the latest release of Media Player 1.4.12.503 + DVD Converter 3.5.0.38b

during reading/analyzing the DVD structure of

Tina Turner - Simply The Best - The Video Collection (7243-4-77975-9-0)

I still get a read error that the (music) DVD is read protected.

All works fine with e.g. VLC Media Player 2.2.

Hi,

Contrary to VLC neither VMP nor DVD Converter can manage copy protected sources, you need a program such as AnyDVD running in the background to read or write them with our software.
You can get more info here: http://www.vso-software.fr/guides/bluray-wont-play.php
The info also applys to DVDs

Could you download and install this version: http://oasis.vso-software.fr/Beta/VSOMe ... 3.504b.exe
Then load the DVDs that cause problem.
And finaly in the menu got to "Help/Report bug", in the message box, please write for "Felicià from dosibo51"

Just done ... I did this on my main PC under Windows 7 64-bit .. (Tina Turner plays ...)

I will try this now on my laptop under Windows 8 64-bit - (where it didn't work) and also send a bug report.

Also no read error anymore under my laptop Windwos 8.

My additional comment (in bug report mail) that a new picture will be shown every 1-2 seconds only happened because the bug report window was open. When closed the video plays perfectly.

I also just sent another bug report to you from DVD "Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Hard On" and "ABBA ‎– Gracias Por La Musica". I still get a read error but works with VLC 2.2.
