Is ConvertXtoVideo a replacement for XtoDVD

Is ConvertXtoVideo a replacement for XtoDVD, or does the latter do a better job for DVDs.
CXV's main purpose is to convert from 1 video format to another (eg avi > mp4)
CXD's main purpose is to convert video in any format to DVD's specifically and offer much more customization than CXV does
if it were a "replacement, then CXD wouldn't exist
