All of a sudden this error pops up every time I start ConvertXtoVideo (latest version 2).

vsoVideoConverter.exe - Bad Image

C:\Windows\system32\OpenCL.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc000012f

After I click "OK" on the error, the program then opens and works fine. I have other VSO products installed and none of them do this. Any ideas?

That error can usually be fixed by reinstalling OpenCL.
First remove everything related to it and then reinstall.

OPencl.dll is not a program, it's a single .dll file and there are multiple copies on the computer at different places and at different sizes even. I don't' know all the ins and outs of opencl.dll other than it works on the graphic side of things. Whatever this issue is is only affecting convertxtovideo.. ConvertXtoDVD and VSO Downloaded don't do it.

Like said JJ, the problem is due to a corrupted OpenCL installation.
Even if OpenCL.dll is a dynamic link library, it was installed by a 3rd party program (maybe a silent driver update)...

In all cases, regarding the error message you get, you can safely delete this OpenCL.dll file from your C:\system32\ folder

OpenCL.dll is used for H264 hardware encoding tasks, that's why only ConvertXtoVideo need it (ConvertXtoDVD only encode to Mpeg-2, Downloader do not use hardware encoding...)

Searching C drive, I find 7 openCL.dll files ranging in size between about 70kb to 205 kb. You're saying I should delete every one of those? Seems like they must be there for something.

I think that I've just said to remove "C:\Windows\system32\OpenCL.dll"?

I took the one out of system32 and still have the error.

Did you reinstall OpenCL?

How do I re-install a .dll file?

The more I search for openCL.dll issues, the more confused I get. Tons of stuff on it and it's baffling.

Well hell dudes, I fixed it! Turns out it was the nvidia video driver. I tried to install to a newer one and the Nvidia driver software said it failed to install. I knew then that something was amiss. I had to use DDU driver un-installer in safe mode to get rid of the old nvida drivers, then rebooted and used the Nvidia drivers installer again and the new drivers then got installed. I then rebooted again and tried to start convertxtovideo and it started right up with no openCL.dll error!

OpenCL support is included in the latest NVIDIA GPU drivers, so reinstalling those also installs OpenCL, fixing the issue.
