I have this problem when I download episodes from a TV series, it often happens half of them are video (mp4) the rest is dowloaded as audio (mp3) though the file extention is mp4, so played as black screen with audio. Has anybody had this problem / knows how the solve this. any help would be appreciated.

As Maggie ask, send us a few links so we can all test and see if we all get the same issue (Then software bug)...

Some of the links that don't work - I should mention I paste the links in manually - If I use auto-detection I download an long list of small files - Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me solve this problem - i'm not really a technical wizard.

With version 5.1.1.67 I got the same issues...

Probably the way this specific site is configured.
I also have weird issues with another site, TOUT.TV so this is probably issues specific to these URLs only...

Auto Detect, ended with errors.
Manually type/paste the URL worked.

I ended with an .MP4 file (Probably was already since Downloader did seems to CONVERT IT.)

There is only 1 AAC audio stream, no video, I assume there should be video also

Will get Maggie to test herself and create a new bug report.

VSO are working real hard on 64bits of the software, so this will be a LOW priority for now, but eventually it will be looked into...

I've bumped into something similar before where I'd get a video file, but it would just play as audio. It was super frustrating! What worked for me was using Movavi. It's not just for editing; it's also a video to mp3 converter for windows that can handle these kinds of issues. With Movavi, I was able to convert those mislabeled mp4 files into proper mp3 audio files when needed or fix them to get the video playing right. It was pretty straightforward and solved the problem without too much hassle.

All is fine for me, I assume there was a few exceptions on specific videos/files which after conversion something went wrong ?

There was not a lot of details so hard to comment on the above posts.

If you have specific issues with specific youtube links - videos, let us know here, we can open a bug report with VSO and have them investigate this specific file-download...
