Hi,

I was wondering if there was a reason for this

Anytime I burn a Blu-ray some films are unwatchable. They are totally jittery and glitchy - and in no way watchable. They are 'slightly' messed up.

If I try again the same films won't work.

Why?

The files play perfectly on the PC.

This is the most recent Blu-ray attempt

These files worked: Eurovision, Buffaloed, The Wrong Missy, The Favourite, The Souvenir, Jay & Silent Bob Reboot

These files DID NOT: Resistance, Spenser, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back

Is there a reason?

Is there a fix?

As it says I am up to date

You have so many files going on those logs that it is a mess to check.

Also, if your empty BD's are 6x speed don't write faster.
Keep write settings to 6x speed.

Create a .iso file from the BD files ConvertXtoHD created.
This can be done with ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/
The write the .iso file to a empty BD with ImgBurn,
Check three options in ImgBurn:
1. Check the option 'Verify' (see screenshot 1)
2. Check in the settings 'Verify Against Image' to on (Screenshot 2)
3. Check 'Preform OPC Before Write' (OPC = Optimum Power Calibration)

Do you have the lastest firmware installed in your BD writer?
I see that you have a external USB LG writer with firmware 1.00 (first release).
Often new firmwares are released witch improve writing etc.
You can read how to do that here: https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-libr ... 4654347994

This way you can eliminate write errors then can cause a not readable disc (Coaster).

I would best describe it as - showing pixelated frames... but only showing a few. So you see a slow/stuttery framerate, and those frames are 'low fi' or pixelated. These seems to be through out the affected films.

I tried again using convertXto Video Ultimate 2

Same results

Always the same films effected [so if x doesn't work one time, it never works]

In this 'run' 6 of the 8 films didn't work

With the stuttering - I wonder if it's a frame rate issue? Have I set up the frame rate to mess up somehow [I guess not, as noone picked up an issue from the log file]

Ever since the issue started I have always been burning at 2x to give it the best chance to work

Now... on ConvertXto Video Ultimate 2... I can watch the video files back from the advanced edit option - I don't know if that is the processed version or the original version... but that plays back fine. If that is the processed version [to burn] - then it has to be 100% a burn and not a processing issue... so maybe it's the BluRay player?

Ok - there is an upgrade but it seems rather complex to add firmware in that everything has to be off. And I am not 100% sure if it's correct...

New firmware(Ver. 1.02)) for only BH10LS30(SUPER MULTI BLUE)

Not sure if I have 'super multi blue' - and have no way to work that out

This was written is 2014 and says: This firmware update can works with Windows based OS(Windows 8, 7, Vista and XP

I guess Windows 10 is fine... but not sure...

I guess I need to try the .iso thing and then try updating the firmware... argh

NOTE: [maybe normal] but the blu-ray in the player can't be read/played on PC apps like VLC/etc just says nor readable. I guess that may be normal for a Blu-Ray with mulitple files ?

So I am left with the 'firmware' update I really didn't want to do - as it sounds sketchy

Anytime I burn a Blu-ray some films are unwatchable. They are totally jittery and glitchy - and in no way watchable. They are 'slightly' messed up.

Why?

The files play perfectly on the PC.

My guess is that you're using a real assortment of unusual and non-standard sizes (i.e. resolutions and bitrates) for input files, mixed formats for both audio and video, and requiring that XtoHD do transcoding and conversions and re-sizing of both audio and video from whatever input format it finds to your single designated output resolution format fps and audio bitrate.

I'm sure XtoHD is theoretically supposed to be able to do whatever is required. But I simply point out that some of your input files may present "challenges".

Looking at the LOG copies you posted and ignoring subtitle information, here is what I can pick up regarding just audio/video input and output. You're picking up a whole variety of inputs, and putting out 1280x720p, 23.97fps, 5100Kbps:

Your HD is very fragmented or has bad sectors if you can watch the movies on your PC but cannot watch them from the burned blurays/DVDs.

Individually each source video is easily playable. It's just one video file, and is rendered by the software media player without a problem.

What he's trying to do here is take 8 different videos, almost all of them of almost random HxW aspect ratio and differing bit rate and FPS and codec, and ask CXtoHD to convert every one of them to either 1280x720 or 1920x1080 and some form of H.264 compression, and only 5100Kbps. I suspect it's just too much to ask of CXtoHD to have 100% success. It's probable that not all of them have been properly converted, or if they have been converted have had their video quality severely impaired.

I'm just speculating.

Anytime I burn a Blu-ray some films are unwatchable. They are totally jittery and glitchy - and in no way watchable. They are 'slightly' messed up.

If I try again the same films won't work.

I try to burn discs of a similar nature - in my case, generally old films, mix of SD and HD, collected together on a blu ray for convenience. Like you, I have exactly the same problem. There is something about some of the files that Convert doesn't like, and the film stutters when you watch it, as if frames are missing. It's perhaps most noticeable in a scene where the camera pans from right to left or vice versa. It is as annoying as hell, but I have tried everything I can to correct it. I must have gone through every permutation in the settings menu, and none of them change anything. And it's not the the burning side of things, as I have changed my burner and it's still the same. And the problematic files seemingly have nothing in common.
