Hello,

I have access to vimeo link that are password protected and the Log output:

'ERROR: This video is protected by a password, use the --video-password option'

I would love to know how to use this option. I searched the forums and FAQ and there is no mention of this and this is an important function I need before purchasing VSO Downloader. Any help appreciated.

Just to clarify please, do you have the password? i.e. are you authorized to view the video

Yes this is for videos I am authorized to access. The log message seems to tell me there is a method where I can enter the password somehow but do not know how and do see that option. If there is a script or arguments I can feed in the I would love to do that just need to understand the process.

The system is very strict about private content, which is why many content sellers choose Vimeo. It's much better than an unlisted video on YouTube for content protection. Unless the download option is enabled by the uploader, I don't think there's a hack to download the file directly.

You can play it back and record the screen of course, but that's a bit cumbersome and probably not what you're looking for. If you do, take a look at OBS or Camtasia.

Thank you yes I know how to screen record and have Camtasia but it doesn't explain the feature that VSO seems to have built in with the mentioned '--video-password option' in the log...
