Why So Slow

I'm using vs. 7.0.64.
It took an hour to convert and 45 minutes to burn a 2 hour video.
Can anyone tell me why so slow? Thanks!

Conversion logs are needed to give answers. Without them it is just a guessing game.

For me it depends on the PC s hardware, if I use an old Core2 Duo to convert say 3 videos totaling 5 hours of content to a DVD5 disk, can take 6 hours. On my newer i9 with 3080 video card, the time drops to around 1 hour. And this is using max quality options.
For me the conversion time is very good

I got to thinking....what have I done differently?
I think it's that I bought a new 4 port hub. My DVD burner doesn't like it.
I plugged my DVD burner directly into my laptop and it worked great.
My computer is a quad core only 3 months old.
The new hub is 3.0.
Wonder why it wouldn't work on there?
Anyway, if anything changes I post a log file.
Thank you both so much for your time.

USB hub causes loss of power and possible data confliction slowing speed.
Those should only be used for keyboards, mouse etc.

DVD writers and external hard drives should always be connected directly to the motherboard for best results.
